Troubleshooting

No Heat Output from Heating System

Depending on the type of heating system you have:

- Electric power: check your thermostat settings are set correctly and ensure the circuit breaker or fuse box has power; reset any tripped breakers or replace blown fuses.

- Gas power: inspect the pilot light or ignition system and follow manufacturer's instructions to relight or troubleshoot if needed. If you don't know how to do this safely, contact one of our professionals.

If your heating system uses air filters, be sure to inspect them. Dirty or clogged filters can restrict airflow, causing the system to overheat and shut down. If needed, replace the filters and make a habit to check and replace them regularly for optimal performance.

If you need help to safely diagnose or repair your heating system, contact our licensed technicians.

Strange Noises from Heating System

Are you hearing unusual noises coming from the heating system, such as banging, rattling, or whistling sounds? This could indicate various issues, such as loose parts, air in the system, or a malfunctioning component.

Inspect the heating system for any visible signs of damage or loose components. Tighten any loose screws or bolts and ensure all panels and covers are securely in place.

If a part needs to be replaced or you're unable to identify the source of the noise, it's best to contact our professional technicians for a thorough inspection and diagnosis. Ignoring strange noises could lead to more significant issues and costly repairs down the line.

Uneven Heat or Colds Spots

If you're experiencing uneven heating or cold spots in your home or office, check the vents and radiators throughout the building to ensure they are open and unobstructed. Blocked vents or radiators can restrict airflow and lead to uneven heating or cold spots. Remove any obstructions and ensure all vents and radiators are open and free from debris.

Bleed the radiators if you have a hot water or steam heating system. Air can become trapped in the radiators, preventing them from heating evenly. Use a radiator key to open the air valve and release any trapped air. Be sure to have a container or towel ready to catch any water that may be released during the bleeding process. If you are unsure how to safely do this, contact our technicians to help.

You should also consider zoning your heating system if you have a forced-air system. Zoning allows you to control the temperature in different areas of the building independently, helping to eliminate uneven heating and cold spots. Consult with one of our professional technicians to determine if zoning is a feasible option for your heating system.
